Turkish metal producers' sales prices decrease in August from July

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in August this year the domestic producer price index (PPI) for Turkish industry in general decreased by 0.59 percent month on month, while it increased by 13.45 percent year on year and an average rise of 30.51 percent was registered for the latest 12 months.                                                      

In August, the domestic PPI for Turkey's basic metal industry was down by 1.94 percent on month-on-month basis and fell by 4.33 percent compared to the same month of 2018. Meanwhile, the average increase in the domestic PPI for the latest 12 months was 28.46 percent.

On the other hand, in the given month the domestic PPI for Turkish manufacture of metal products, except machinery, decreased by 0.92 percent as compared to June and was up 8.35 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the sector in question, an average increase of 30.25 percent in the PPI index was registered for the latest 12 months.
