In February 2026, Turkey’s cold rolled flat steel imports amounted to 58,633 metric tons, down by 15.7 percent compared to January and by 29.4 percent year on year, according to the preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports totaled $42.80 million, decreasing by 13.9 percent compared to the previous month and down by 26.2 percent year on year.

In the January-February period of 2026, Turkey's cold rolled flat steel imports amounted to 128,179 mt, down 31.2 percent, while the value of these imports decreased by 28.5 percent to $92.51 million, both year on year.

In the January-February period of 2026, Turkey’s largest cold rolled flat steel import source was South Korea, which supplied 55,115 mt, down by 15.9 percent year on year. South Korea was followed by China with 27,534 mt, down by 2.9 percent year on year, and Russia with 13,772 mt, down by 63.7 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

The sharp decline in Turkey’s cold rolled sheet imports indicates that the contraction in supply from Russia and the EU was particularly decisive, while also pointing to generally weak demand. In contrast, the strong increase in imports from France suggests that alternative supply channels may be starting to come to the fore for certain product groups.
