In March this year, Turkey’s cold rolled flat steel imports amounted to 102,866 metric tons, up by 75.4 percent compared to February and by 59.3 percent year on year, according to the preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports totaled $68.82 million, increasing by 60.8 percent compared to the previous month and by 47.6 percent year on year.
In the January-March period, Turkey's cold rolled flat steel imports amounted to 231,075 mt, down 7.9 percent, while the value of these imports decreased by 8.4 percent to $161.33 million, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey’s largest cold rolled flat steel import source was South Korea, which supplied 98,474 mt, up 12.0 percent year on year. South Korea was followed by Russia with 47,929 mt, down 2.3 percent year on year and China with 31,730 mt, down 28.4 percent compared to the same period.
In the January-March period of 2025, Turkey’s largest cold rolled flat steel import sources were mainly South Korea, Russia, China, Belgium and France, while the top three positions remained unchanged in the same period of 2026. South Korea maintained its position as by far the largest supplier, with a 12 percent year-on-year increase to 98,474 mt, while imports from Russia declined by 2.3 percent to 47,929 mt, with the country remaining in second place. Imports from China decreased by 28.4 percent to 31,730 mt; although China held on to third place, its share in the total weakened. Meanwhile, the 108.5 percent increase in imports from France, which moved the country up to fourth place, was notable, while imports from Belgium fell sharply by 67.5 percent. In addition, Egypt and the UK, which were among the top 10 suppliers last year, almost completely dropped out of this year’s list.
