Turkey’s wire rod exports up 87.7 percent in Q1

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in March this year Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 94.2 percent year on year to 143,961 metric tons, up 13.88 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $61.9 million, up 10.34 percent month on month and rising by 149.2 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

In the first quarter, Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 87.7 percent to 418,106 mt, while the revenue from these exports increased by 142.6 percent to $182.6 million, both year on year.
 
In the first three months of the current year, Turkey's largest wire rod export destination was Israel which received 56,510 metric tons. Israel was followed by Singapore with 49,289 metric tons and the US with 46,193 metric tons.
