Turkey’s wire rod exports up 7.2 percent in H1

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in June this year Turkey's wire rod exports decreased by 10.3 percent year on year to 70,937 metric tons, down 57 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $42.04 million, down 58.2 percent month on month and rising by 16.2 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

In the first half of the current year, Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 7.2 percent to 802,048 mt, while the revenue from these exports went up by 41.9 percent to $473.1 million, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey's largest wire rod export destination was Belgium which received 161,554 metric tons. Belgium was followed by Israel with 147,166 metric tons and the Netherlands with 75,251 metric tons.
