Turkey’s wire rod exports down 19.2 percent in January-September

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in September this year Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 11.5 percent year on year to 54,064 metric tons, down 29 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $22.7 million, down 30.6 percent month on month and falling 22.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.


 
In the January-September period, Turkey's wire rod exports amounted to 595,471 mt, falling 19.2 percent, while revenues from these exports decreased by 37.4 percent to $274.9 million, both compared to the first nine months of 2014.
 
In the first nine months this year, the US ranked first among Turkey's wire rod export destinations with imports totaling 169,384 mt, followed by Israel which imported 145,276 mt of wire rod from Turkey, while Libya imported 33,538 mt.
