Turkish pipe producer Erciyas Çelik Boru has announced that it has finalized the production and shipment of pipes for the third phase of a desalination project in Morocco, completing deliveries in line with the planned schedule.
The order, valued at $76.34 million, was awarded in February 2025, as SteelOrbis reported previously.
Strategic project to address water scarcity
The project, led by the Moroccan government, aims to address long-term water shortages in the Marrakech region. It involves desalinating seawater and transporting it inland to meet growing demand amid ongoing water scarcity challenges.
Erciyas stated that its performance in the project has strengthened its strategic position, leading to additional demand for new projects. Negotiations for further business opportunities are currently ongoing. The company aims to expand its relationship with project stakeholders through broader-scope initiatives.
