Russia’s Severstal, one of the largest integrated steel producers globally, in 2019 invested around RUB 1 billion ($15.6 million) in the modernization of its Izhora Pipe mill. The asset, which operates a 600,000 mt per year pipe capacity, will start to produce welded pipes with diameter from 508 mm at the beginning of next year, according to the official statement.
The product will be specifically used for the needs of the South-Kirinskoye oil and gas field, but can be applied in a wide range of projects connected to the oil and gas sector, industrial and technical pipelines, etc. The Izhora Pipe mill is a known supplier of the large diameter pipes in Russia for various industrial usages.
