Last year's collapse of the Russian ruble has forced pipe producers to ask Russian state gas monopoly Gazprom to revise its purchase prices for their pipe products, according to the Russian newspaper Vedomosti.

Since May 2012, Gazprom has been paying for pipes according to a price formula. However, due to sharp currency fluctuations, the system has failed. Producers have had to start negotiations with Gazprom to raise prices for pipes. At the same time, shipments of pipe products to Gazprom have not been halted.
