Peruvian rebar sales increase 16 percent in February

Peruvian rebar sales in the second month of the year rose 16 percent, year-on-year, according to data released late last week by the nation’s statistics agency, INEI.

Government data indicated local rebar sales reached 112,416 mt in February this year, up from 96,954 mt in the same month of the year prior. On the other hand, Peruvian rebar sales dropped nearly 2 percent, month-on-month, from 114,371 mt in January this year.

As for the two-month period from January to February this year, Peruvian rebar sales totaled 226,787 mt, 4 percent up, year-on-year.
