Pakistan’s scrap imports down 4.9 percent in September from August

Pakistan’s scrap imports amounted to 200,189 mt in September this year, decreasing by 4.9 percent compared to August and down by 3.9 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in the given month was $91.7 million, down by 5.9 percent month on month and by 22.1 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s iron and steel imports in September amounted to 201,935 mt, increasing by 2.3 percent on year-on-year basis and decreasing by 12.9 percent compared to the previous month. In the given month, the value of Pakistan’s iron and steel imports was $148.4 million, moving down by 15.8 percent year on year and by 8.2 percent month on month.
