Pakistan’s scrap imports down 37.6 percent in March 2026 from February

Pakistan’s scrap imports amounted to 208,764 mt in March this year, decreasing by 37.6 percent compared to February and down by 29.7 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in the given month was $122.04 million, down by 20.1 percent month on month and down by 3.8 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s iron and steel imports in March amounted to 252,226 mt, down by 20.1 percent on year-on-year basis and down by 41.1 percent compared to the previous month. In the given month, the value of Pakistan’s iron and steel imports was $160.07 million, moving down 30.7 percent year on year and down by 24.7 percent month on month.
