Pakistan’s scrap imports amounted to 136,384 mt in March this year, dropping by 4.5 percent compared to February and by 57.9 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in the given month was $77.62 million, up by 1.3 percent month on month and down by 61.0 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s iron and steel imports in March amounted to 159,898 mt, falling by 35.6 percent on year-on-year basis and by 3.3 percent compared to the previous month. In the given month, the value of Pakistan’s iron and steel imports was $119.30 million, moving down by 43.8 percent year on year and by 8.4 percent month on month.
