Pakistan’s scrap imports down 36.6% in February from January

Pakistan’s scrap imports amounted to 142,790 mt in February this year, dropping by 36.6 percent compared to January and by 59.3 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in the given month was $76.64 million, down by 31.8 percent month on month and by 64.2 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s iron and steel imports in February amounted to 165,326 mt, falling by 35.1 percent on year-on-year basis and by 46.7 percent compared to the previous month. In the given month, the value of Pakistan’s iron and steel imports was $130.30 million, moving down by 44.6 percent year on year and by 40.4 percent month on month.
