Russian Steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) has announced that it has passed a recertification audit conducted by German-based certification body TÜV Rheinland Cert GmbH for its environmental management system. The recertification confirms NLMK's compliance with requirements specified under international standard ISO 14001:2004.

The experts from TÜV Rheinland Cert GmbH assessed operations at NLMK's business units and technical services, in addition to its current environmental management system documentation. They confirmed that NLMK's environmental practices, implemented projects and projects progressing are in line with best available technology (BAT) requirements.

NLMK's environmental management system received a positive appraisal from the auditors and NLMK's universally recognized environmental standard has been extended for the next three years.
