New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey up 61.3 percent in July

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in July this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased by 61.3 percent month on month to 67,621 units and were down by 30 percent year on year.

New passenger car registrations in July totaled 38,484 units, increasing by 110.9 percent as compared to June and decreasing by 31.5 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 56.9 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.

On the other hand, new small truck registrations in July amounted to 6,069 units, up by 147.7 percent month on month and down 51.8 percent year on year. Small truck registrations constituted nine percent of total new registrations in July.
