In June this year, new passenger car registrations in the EU rose by 17.8 percent year on year to 1,045,073 units, according to the European association of car manufacturers ACEA.
In the given month, all major countries, including Germany (+24.8%), Spain (+13.3%), France (+11.5%) and Italy (+9.1%), reported positive results, except for Hungary which posted a 1.4 percent drop.
In the first half of the year, new car registrations grew by 17.9 percent year on year to 5,438,653 units. Spain saw the sharpest rise with an increase of 24.0 percent, followed by Italy (+22.8%), France (+15.3%) and Germany (+12.8%), year on year.
