New car registrations in EU up 16.9 percent in January-September

In September this year, new passenger car registrations in the EU rose by 9.2 percent year on year to 861,062 units, according to the European association of car manufacturers ACEA.

In the given month, two major countries, Italy (+22.7%) and France (+10.7%), reported positive results.

In the first nine months of this year, new car registrations grew by 16.9 percent year on year to eight million units. Portugal saw the sharpest rise with an increase of 34.1 percent, followed by Belgium (+33.2%), Croatia (+32.3%) and the Netherlands (+28.6%), year on year.
