Mexico’s economy secretariat, SE, has commenced a sunset review on imports of welded pipe from the United Kingdom, it said this week.
Mexico first imposed a countervailing duty (CVD) of 5.91 percent against the imports in 2010 and renewed the CVD for a five-year period effective January 6, 2015 following a request from domestic producer Tubacero.
SE said the duties are still valid as it continues the sunset review. The review period will be set from October 1, 2018, to September 30, 2019, while the analysis period will go from October 1, 2014, to September 30, 2019.
The product subject to the sunset review falls under the HS code 7305.11.01.
SE said the product subject to the sunset review usually includes carbon pipes produced under the A grade up to the X-80 grades, with a maximum 0.26 percent carbon content, among other specifications.
