Japanese auto output remains almost stable in January-July

According to the data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), in July this year Japanese automobile production (including passenger cars, trucks and buses) totaled 801,778 units, falling by two percent compared to the same month of 2017. Meanwhile, in the January-July period of 2018, Japanese automobile production remained almost stable at 5,661,679 units on year-on-year basis.

Domestic automobile sales in July this year in Japan stood at 441,533 vehicles, up by 3.27 percent as compared with the same month of 2017. Meanwhile, in the January-July period of this year domestic automobile sales in Japan decreased by 1.1 percent year on year to 3,174,011 units.

In the meantime, the country's automobile exports in July amounted to 380,307 units, down by 7.4 percent year on year. In the first seven months of this year, Japanese automobile exports increased by 4.63 percent year on year to 2,761,863 mt.
