Italian crude steel production increases by 2.6 percent in March

After declining in the first two months of this year, Italy's crude steel production rose again in March. According to the latest updated data released by Federacciai, the Italian steel producers association, the volumes of crude steel produced in Italy increased by 2.6 percent year on year in March to about 2.18 million metric tons.

Looking at the long and flat product segments, the volumes produced in March amounted to 1.3 million mt and 917,000 mt, respectively. Longs production increased by 3.3 percent year on year, while flats production decreased by 7.1 percent year on year.
