Italian crude steel output rises by 9.3 percent in May

In May this year, Italian producers' overall crude steel output increased by 9.3 percent year on year to 2,187,000 metric tons, as announced by the Italian steel association Federacciai.

In the first five months of the current year, Italian crude steel production amounted to 10.080 million metric tons, up  2.9 percent year on year.

On the other hand, the May 2016 output figure was lower than the 2.290 million metric tons recorded in May 2014, the 2.307 million metric tons in May 2013, 2.607 million metric tons in May 2012 and 2.656 million metric tons in May 2011.
