Italian crude steel output down 5.2 percent in September

In September this year, Italian producers' crude steel output decreased by 5.2 percent year on year to 1,989,000 metric tons, as announced by the Italian steel association Federacciai. The decrease comes after successive year-on-year increases in the previous five months.

The September 2016 output figure was lower than 2.167 million metric tons in September 2014, 2.147 million metric tons in September 2013, 2.378 million metric tons in September 2012 and 2.566 million metric tons in September 2011.

Italian crude steel output in the January-September period was  17.307 million metric tons, with an increase of 3.3 percent year on year. In the first half of the year, Italian crude steel output had increased by 3.5 percent year on year to 12.128 million metric tons.
