Ipsco taking steps to secure its leading position in US market

Market sources report that in line with the company's plan to secure its position as the leading plate supplier in North America Peter MacPhail and Dr.Steve Hansen who have been a key part of the specialty steel plate industry in US joined to Ipsco Inc. Futhermore, company sped up its expansion plans of mill's higher-grade specialty steel products as a part of its plan mentioned above. Peter MacPhail, who has been running Canadian steel operations for a couple of years, is now responsible for coordinating Ipsco's all operational activities at works located in Alabama, Iowa and Saskatchewan. Dr.Steve Hansen, known as an expert in plate industry and appointed as the director of technical services is expected to increase the company's capabilities in specialty steel products.
