In November last year, seasonally-adjusted industrial production rose by 1.0 percent in the euro area and by 0.9 percent in the EU-28, as compared with October, while industrial production in October had risen by 0.4 percent in the euro area and by 0.5 percent in the EU-28, both on month-on-month basis. In November last year compared with November 2016, industrial production increased by 3.2 percent in the euro area and by 3.5 percent in the EU-28. These figures are released by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Union.
As compared to October, in November last year the production of durable goods rose by 1.6 percent in the euro area and by 1.4 percent in the EU-28, while the production of non-durable consumer goods increased by 0.1 percent in the euro area and by 0.2 percent in the EU-28. In November last year, production of capital goods moved up by 3.0 percent in the euro area and by 2.4 percent in the EU-28, while the production of intermediate goods increased by 1.1 percent in the euro area and by 0.9 percent in the EU-28, all month on month. Meanwhile, production of energy remained stable in the euro area and rose by 0.4 percent in the EU-28, month on month.
Among the member states, in November the highest month-on-month decreases were registered in Ireland (-9.4%), Croatia (-3.6%) and Hungary (-2.1%), and the highest increases in the Czech Republic and Germany (both +3.6%) and Luxembourg (+3.4%).
As compared to the same month of 2016, in November 2017 production of durable consumer goods increased by 4.6 percent both in the euro area and in the EU-28, production of intermediate goods rose by 4.6 percent in the euro area and 4.8 percent in the EU-28, while production of capital goods increased by 6.2 percent in the euro area and rose by 6.8 percent in the EU-28, all year on year. In November last year, production of non-durable consumer goods declined by 0.1 percent in the euro area and moved up by 0.3 percent in the EU-28, while production of energy fell by 3.4 percent in the euro area and was down by 2.0 percent in the EU-28, both on year-on-year basis.
Among the member states for which data are available, in November the largest year-on-year increases were registered in Slovenia (+9.9%), Romania (+9.3%) and the Czech Republic (+8.5%), while decreases were observed in Ireland (-10.1%), Netherlands (-4.7%), Denmark (-2.7%) and Croatia (-1.6%).
