Chile’s rebar sales down 23 percent in March

Chile’s rebar sales to the local civil construction sector declined 23.2 percent in March, year-on-year, according to data released by the nation’s civil country’s construction chamber, CCHC.

According to CCHC, sales of rebar reached 42,564 mt, down from 55,390 mt in the same period of 2014. Rebar sales in the first quarter of the year totaled 135,951 mt, 7.1 percent lower than the 146,401 volume registered in the same period of 2014.

March’s rebar sales were also lower compared to 43,138 mt volume seen in February this year.
