Chilean rebar sales recover in October

Chilean rebar sales have recovered in October, reaching the year’s highest shipment rate so far, according to data released by the nation’s civil construction chamber, CChC.

According to CChC, rebar sales in October rose 1.3 percent, year-on-year, and 30.3 percent, month-on-month, to 51,568 mt.

In the cumulative period of January to October, Chilean rebar shipments totaled 425,293 mt,
15.5 percent down, year-on-year, from 503,766 mt in the year prior.

Historically, October has been a relatively better month for rebar sales. Data from CChC indicate rebar sales in October tend to reach more than 50,000 mt, considering rebar shipments in the month of October since 2012. As a comparison, Chile’s lowest rebar sales volume this year was reached in June, when shipments totaled 33,441 mt.
