Chilean rebar sales decline in May

Chilean rebar sales in May dropped 11.1 percent, year-on-year, according to data released by the country’s civil construction chamber (CChC).

According to the trade group, local rebar sales in May reached 39,025 mt, down from 43,898 mt in the same month of the year prior. CChC said rebar sales decreased 3.8 percent in May, month-on-month, when compared to 40,582 mt in April.

As for the accumulated period of January to May, Chilean rebar sales totaled 216,759 mt, up from 213,510 mt in the same period of 2017.
