Baotou Steel posts increased outputs in February

In February this year, Inner Mongolia-based Chinese steel producer Baotou Iron and Steel (Baotou Steel) produced 793,300 mt of pig iron - up 5.67 percent, 814,500 mt of crude steel - up 4.24 percent, and 795,800 mt of finished steel - up 6.4 percent, all compared with the same month of 2010, as announced by the company.
 
During the month in question, Baotou Steel produced 100,200 mt of rail steel and 69,000 mt of seamless pipe, rising by 6.4 percent and 64.19 percent year on year respectively.
