Automotive sales in Turkey up 64.8 percent in January-September

In September this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey rose by 55.9 percent year on year and by 8.2 percent month on month to 96,793 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey moved up by 76.7 percent year on year and grew by 14.2 percent month on month to 78,971 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles increased by 2.4 percent year on year and decreased by 12.3 percent month on month to 17,822 units.

In the January-September period this year, domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw an increase of 64.8 percent year on year, amounting to 857,575 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country grew by 67.0 percent to 666,890 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles rose by 57.2 percent to 190,685 units, both on year-on-year basis.
