Automotive sales in Turkey up 41 percent in January-March

In March this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey increased by 1.6 percent year on year and rose by 6.1 percent month on month to 50,008 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey increased by 3.26 percent year on year and were up by 5.7 percent month on month to 39,887 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles decreased by 4.46 percent year on year and advanced by 7.7 percent month on month to 10,121 units.

Meanwhile, in the first three months of the year, domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw an increase of 40.62 percent year on year, amounting to 124,403 units. In this period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country were up by 44.79 percent to 99,630 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles rose by 26.03 percent to 24,773 units, both on year-on-year basis.
