Automotive sales in Turkey up 30.2 percent in January-June

In June this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey increased by 66.3 percent year on year and were up by 120.2 percent month on month to 70,903 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey rose by 58.4 percent year on year and were up by 127.6 percent month on month to 57,067 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles increased by 108.7 percent year on year and by 94.2 percent month on month to 13,906 units.

Meanwhile, in the first six months of the year, domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw an increase of 30.2 percent year on year, amounting to 254,068 units. In this period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country were up by 30.2 percent to 203,595 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles rose by 30.2 percent to 50,473 units, both on year-on-year basis.
