In April this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey decreased by 56.46 percent year on year to 30,971 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey declined by 55.69 percent year on year to 24,416 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles dropped by 59.08 percent year on year to 6,555 units.
Meanwhile, in the first four months of the year, domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw a decrease of 47.97 percent year on year, amounting to 119,440 units. In this period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country were down by 47.45 percent to 93,228 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 49.73 percent to 52,138 units, both on year-on-year basis.
