Automotive sales in Turkey down 45.66 percent in January-August

In August this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey decreased by 23.58 percent year on year to 26,246 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey declined by 20.14 percent year on year to 21,544 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles dropped by 36.2 percent year on year to 4,702 units.

Meanwhile, in the first eight months of the year, domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw a decrease of 45.66 percent year on year, amounting to 239,317 units. In this period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country were down by 43.94 percent to 193,320 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 51.86 percent to 45,997 units, both on year-on-year basis.
