Automotive sales in Turkey down 39.3 percent in January-September

In September this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey increased by 82.35 percent year on year to 41,992 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey rose by 100.7 percent year on year to 35,308 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles increased by 23.03 percent year on year to 6,684 units.

Meanwhile, in the first nine months of the year, domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw a decrease of 39.3 percent year on year, amounting to 281,309 units. In this period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country were down by 36.9 percent to 228,628 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 47.8 percent to 52,681 units, both on year-on-year basis.
