In October this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey increased by 127.5 percent year on year to 49,075 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey rose by 137.9 percent year on year to 39,996 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles increased by 90.7 percent year on year to 9,079 units.
Meanwhile, in the first ten months of the year, domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw a decrease of 31.9 percent year on year, amounting to 330,384 units. In this period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country were down by 29.2 percent to 268,624 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 41.6 percent to 105,753 units, both on year-on-year basis.
