Argentina produced 46,286 units (cars and light commercial vehicles) in February, 70.3 percent more than in January and 22.9 percent more than in in February 2022.

According to the sector association Adefa, the increase reflects a low base of comparison, as collective vacations during January resulted in only 12 working days during the month, against 18 working days in February.

Exports increased from January by 111 percent to 23,960 units, and a 19.7 percent increase from February 2022.

Domestic sales reached 30,125 units in February, 36.2 percent more than in January and 18.5 percent more than in February 2022.

According to Martin Galdeano, president of the country’s auto industry association Adefa, “the country’s automotive production is showing positive numbers, confirming the expectations unveiled by the sector some months ago,” adding that the increase reflects the work developed along the production chain and the country’s authorities.
