Argentina’s automotive production declines in April

Argentina produced 54,339 units (cars and light commercial vehicles) in April, 11 percent less than in March and 24.1 percent more than in in April 2022.

Exports declined from March to April by 5.2 percent to 32,420 units, but increased 12 percent from April 2022.

Domestic sales reached 33,795 units in April, 11.3 percent less than in March and 9.5 percent more than in April 2022.

According to Martin Galdeano, president of the country`s auto industry association Adefa, the numbers achieved by the sector during the first four months of the year confirm that the upward trend forecasted for 2023 is maintained.

During the first four months of 2023, the Argentine production of vehicles increased on yearly basis by 26.9 percent to 148,884 units.

Under the same comparative basis, exports increased by 21 percent to 98,474 units, while domestic sales increased by 12.6 percent to 124,119 units.
