One Izmir-based Turkish steel producer has raised its ship scrap purchase price by $3/mt this week. As a result, the general range has settled at $320-358/mt, $3/mt higher on the upper end. The lower end represented by Habaş has not changed. The upper end represented by Ege Çelik is still higher than the price recorded in the most recent ex-US scrap deal, which was closed at $355.5/mt CFR. The steelmaker in question only produces from domestic scrap.
In Turkey’s Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:
| Producer | Price ($/mt) | Price change ($/mt) |
| Özkan Demir Çelik | 355 | 0 |
| Habaş | 320 | 0 |
| Ege Çelik | 358 | +3 |
| İDÇ | 355 | 0 |
| Medfer | 335 | 0 |
All the above prices are for delivery to mill by truck.
