One Izmir-based Turkish steel producer has increased its ship scrap procurement price by $2/mt, thereby pushing up the upper end of the general range of ship scrap purchase prices in Turkey to $320-348/mt. The producer in question works with local scrap in its production. The reduced supply in the local scrap market has forced it to accept this slight increase to secure tonnages.

In Turkey’s Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:

Producer   Price ($/mt) Price change ($/mt)
Özkan Demir Çelik 345 0
Habaş  320 0
Ege Çelik  348 +2
İDÇ  342 0

All the above prices are for delivery to mill by truck.
