Turkey’s ship scrap market prices have increased on the upper end to $358-360/mt, market sources in the Izmir region report. Turkish mills are still showing interest in ship scrap, while this year the tonnages bought from ship demolition yards are reported to be higher than in previous years. Consequently, producers that rarely buy deep sea scrap are increasing their prices to secure greater inflows of local scrap and ship scrap.
In Turkey’s Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:
| Producer | Price ($/mt) |
| Özkan Demir Çelik | 360 |
| Habaş | 358 |
| Ege Çelik | 358 |
| İDÇ | 358 |
All the above prices are for delivery to mill by truck.
