Turkey’s ship purchase scrap prices declined by $5-10/mt on the upper end today, April 21, with two Turkish steel producers in the Izmir region cutting their prices. As a result, Turkey’s ship scrap purchase prices have declined to $340-342/mt. Following the second sharp drop in Turkey’s deep sea scrap prices, the previous upper end of ship scrap purchase prices at $351/mt became unworkable. It is thought that ship scrap prices may fall further in the coming days.
