Turkey’s ship scrap prices decline on upper end

Turkey’s ship purchase scrap prices declined by $5-10/mt on the upper end today, April 21, with two Turkish steel producers in the Izmir region cutting their prices. As a result, Turkey’s ship scrap purchase prices have declined to $340-342/mt. Following the second sharp drop in Turkey’s deep sea scrap prices, the previous upper end of ship scrap purchase prices at $351/mt became unworkable. It is thought that ship scrap prices may fall further in the coming days.

In Turkey’s Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:

Habaş

All the above prices are for delivery to mill by truck.
