Turkey’s ship purchase scrap prices have declined by $7-20/mt as compared to the levels recorded on April 21. The general price range in Turkey’s ship scrap market is now at $320-340/mt. Scrap flow to mills is reported to be on the good side. While Turkey’s import scrap market is showing indications of a recovery, ship scrap prices are expected to move sideways in the coming days.

In Turkey’s Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:

Producer   Price ($/mt) Price change ($/mt)
Özkan Demir Çelik 340 0
Habaş  320 -20
Ege Çelik  335 -7
İDÇ  330 -10

All the above prices are for delivery to mill by truck.
