Over the past week, Turkish mills have cut their ship scrap procurement prices by $13-20/mt due to decreasing deep sea and short sea scrap prices as well as the lack of steel demand in Turkey. Currently, the general price range is at $347-351/mt for delivery to mill by truck, with one of the Izmir-based mills deciding to stop accepting ship scrap for now.

In Turkey’s Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:

Habaş

351

Ege Çelik

All the above prices are for delivery to mill by truck.
