The reference price for the export of rebars by Brazilian producers is $850/mt, stable from four weeks ago, CFR conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.
In July, Brazil exported 39,000 mt and imported 2,200 mt of rebars against respectively 9,000 mt and 7,100 mt in June, according to Secex.
The exports of July were all destined to South American countries, shipped by ArcelorMittal (26,600 mt at $689/mt) and Gerdau (12,400 mt at $615/mt), FOB conditions.
The imports were from Egypt, (2,000 mt at $583/mt), Germany (100 mt at $1,745/mt, certainly not a market price), also FOB conditions. Small volumes were imported from Russia and China.
In the Brazilian domestic market, rebars are offered by producers, in medium to large volumes, at BRL 6,100/mt ($1,132/mt), stable in BRL over the last two months, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s southeast and south regions.
