A source from a producer in Brazil told SteelOrbis that the reference price for the export of Galvalume is currently $920/mt CFR for sales to Southern Europe, for the AZ-150 grade product.

A source from a producer mentioned that Galvalume export sales remain at low pace due to idling of blast furnaces at CSN and ArcelorMittal.

The source added that no sales to the US were closed recently, mentioning that a hypothetical reference price in CFR terms for export to that country would be in the $1,000/mt range.

In September, Brazil exported a mere 265 mt of Galvalume, of which 181 mt destined to Luxembourg, and 84 mt to the Dominican Republic, both by ArcelorMittal. Meanwhile, the country imported in September 18,400 mt of Galvalume from China at $731/mt, 1,000 mt from New Zealand at $719/mt, and 100 mt from South Korea at $978/mt, all FOB conditions.
