Brazil exported 13,600 metric tons (mt) of hot-dipped galvanized products (HDG) in July, down from 21,700 mt in June, according to Secex, the foreign trade secretariat of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.
The decline was driven mainly by the absence of shipments to the US in July, versus 10,900 mt sent in June
In July, all HDG shipments were destined for Argentina, exported by ArcelorMittal (11,400 mt at $1,383/mt), and by Usiminas (2,200 mt at $1,178/mt), FOB conditions.
Meanwhile, Brazil's HDG imports dropped to 10,900 mt in July, compared with 55,500 mt in June, in a decline reflecting imports from Vietnam that were reduced by 81 percent to 5,700 mt.
Most HDG imports came from Asia, totaling 10,400 mt at $669/mt, while Europe supplied 500 mt at $1,429/mt, also on an FOB basis.
