The current reference price for Brazilian exports of Galvalume is still $850/mt, FOB conditions for the AZ-150 product, the same as two weeks ago. Such price is roughly equivalent to $880/mt CFR conditions for sales to Europe.
According to sources, very few export deals are being closed for Galvalume, as the product remains scarce in Brazil and imports consistently exceed exports.
In January, CSN exported 7,700 mt of Galvalume to the US at $923/mt, FOB conditions, while ArcelorMittal exported a small volume to Paraguay. The export of CSN is part of the Q2 2020 quota, under US Section 232.
Meanwhile, Brazil imported in January 22,300 mt of Galvalume from China, in average at $683/mt, FOB conditions, along with a small volume imported from South Korea. The last offer of Galvalume received by a Brazilian importer from China was priced at $790, against $780/mt two weeks ago, both CFR conditions to a port in the south or southeastern coast of Brazil.
