US tool steel exports up 0.2 percent in February

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of tool steel totaled 7,958 mt in February 2023, up 0.2 percent from January but down 13.6 percent from February 2022. By value, tool steel exports totaled $13.8 million in February, compared to $15.4 million in the previous month and $16.3 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most tool steel to Mexico in February with 5,994 mt, compared to 5,575 mt in January and 6,314 mt in February 2022. Other top destinations included Canada, with 1,488 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US tool steel exports in February.
