US tool steel exports down 24.6 percent in February

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of tool steel totaled 8,347 mt in February 2019, down 24.6 percent from January and down 27.4 percent from February 2018 levels. By value, tool steel exports totaled $12.4 million in February, compared to $15.2 million in the previous month and $15.7 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most tool steel to Mexico in February with 7,724 mt, compared to 10,262 mt in January and 10,473 mt in February 2018. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US export tool steel in February.
